Contrail® Base Station
Total Control of Your Network Data and Information Distribution
Contrail Base Station is a standalone software application that provides the same form and functionality of our Contrail Web Hosted services and is tailor-made for organizations requiring total control over their rainfall data. Hosted on a dedicated Linux server within your network.
Contrail Base Station is the visualization tool of choice when managing and controlling access to your data is critical. Contrail Base Station can exhange data seamlessly with OneRain’s Harbor, a 24/7-monitored secure database of national hydrologic information, that includes real-time and historical gauge-adjusted radar rainfall and gauge data from many sources.
Contrail Base Station collects and archives data from local instrumentation for web visualization on your internal network or via the Internet. Using Contrail base station, you can support an unlimited number of users via a single or multiple web site(s), each either username-password securable or public. For example, if your web site is set up with alarms and notifications specific to your needs, you can choose to support a sub-client with their own, individually-branded web site. There are also options for a shared or public web site.

Benefits

Administrative users can manage web page appearances and content, alarms and notifications, user accounts, and security. OneRain provides appropriate training for both administrators and users. Server administrators will require some Linux skills and they receive special training in troubleshooting and support from OneRain professionals. Some agencies elect to have OneRain operate their servers 24/7, just as we do our own hosted Contrail Web services.
The Contrail Base Station uses an open standard, open source database and can be configured to run across multiple servers with real-time database replication. The application ingests data from multiple sources including local ALERT/ALERT2™, cellular data, and satellite gauge data, as well as almost any web-accessible data sources.
Optional features include
- 24/7 system health monitoring
- Automated problem notification
- Data backup and recovery
- Redundant, replicated databases
- Remote troubleshooting and technical support
- On-line software upgrades
Custom Maps
Custom maps are used to display local conditions. Point and click to drill down quickly to a specific site or sensor. Easy to use tools display current and historical information for sensors. Data can be easily exported for further analysis.
